When the Dirt Rider crew received an exclusive invitation to test Bill and Marty Lawson's homemade all-wheel-drive creation, we just couldn't resist. Built around a KTM 300 XC, this one-off machine has a unique front end that has been retrofitted for AWD performance, along with a wild front suspension design that is unlike anything we've ever tested. We put the Lawson through the ringer, riding it on a full-on EnduroCross track as well as on some wicked singletrack, sand washes and GP loops. In the end, we learned a lot about how this design works, and we gained some interesting insight into the mind of these two inventors. For the full test of the Lawson AWD bike, check out the September 2013 issue of Dirt Rider magazine. In the meantime, check out some exclusive video footage for a view of the Lawson in action and an explanation from Marty Lawson himself about how this innovative bike works.
