In the pits of Anaheim 1 prior to the press conference, Alpinestars announced it will be releasing a new helmet specifically designed for motocross and off-road: the Supertech S-M10. The full carbon-fiber lid has four individual shell sizes, four different EPS densities, MIPS, and a claimed weight of 1,260 grams, or 2.78 pounds, for a size medium.
As of now, the helmet comes in three color schemes with red, black, and charcoal, while the sizes range from small to 2XL. The S-M10 features two patented parts including an A-Head system designed to easily adjust the angle in which the helmet sits on the rider’s head as well as a visor that is designed to release during an impact from any angle.
Also, the bottom side of the helmet is raised as high as possible to protect the collarbone area of those riders who don’t wear a neck brace, the mouthpiece utilizes a radial ridge to increase the strength of the front of the helmet, and ventilation is handled by an interior air network channeling system.
The S-M10 will be available in September 2018, and as far as pricing, Alpinestars has not released any information at this time.
