First introduced in 2021 as a United States–only model, Beta’s 300 RX is back for its fourth year on the market. No mechanical updates have been made to the Italian manufacturer’s motocross bike, just different colors and graphics. However, there’s no shortage of notable features and components on this open-class two-stroke.
Like its off-road siblings of the same displacement (the 300 RR and 300 RR Race Edition), the heart and soul of the MX model is a liquid-cooled 293cc two-stroke engine that’s brought to life via electric start. Plus, there’s a kickstart boss for those who would like to purchase and install a kickstart as backup.
The powerplant remains a square 72.0mm bore and 72.0mm stroke with a compression ratio of 11.6:1. A Keihin PWK 36mm carburetor sends premixed fuel into the engine. Its diaphragm clutch is engaged and disengaged by a Brembo master cylinder. Gearbox is a six-speed. A two-position engine map switch and adjustable power valve that works independently of it allows riders to alter power delivery as much as 30 percent, according to Beta.

Beta specs the 300 RX with some of the best suspension components available including a KYB Air-Oil Separate (AOS) 48mm closed-cartridge coil-spring fork that’s compression and rebound damping tunable, and a KYB shock that’s adjustable for spring preload, high/low-speed compression damping, and rebound damping. Travel is 11.6 inches up front and 11.4 inches in the rear.
Forming the basis of the chassis is a double-cradle chromoly steel frame and composite subframe. Triple clamps are machined, and the top offers six handlebar positions. Excel rims are anodized blue and wrapped with Michelin StarCross 5 Medium tires. For brakes, Beta specs a Nissin dual-piston front caliper and 260mm floating disc, along with a Nissin single-piston rear caliper and 240mm disc.
Push-button seat removal with toolless air filter access, billet aluminum footpegs with stainless steel pins, a gripper seat cover, dual-material rear sprocket, billet aluminum axle blocks, and billet aluminum oil filler plug are other notable features and components that come stock on the 300 RX. According to claimed specifications, it hits the scales at 220 pounds wet without fuel. Beta USA even throws in an Acerbis stand at no extra charge.
The 2024 Beta 300 RX will be available in September 2023 for a suggested retail price of $9,399.
