Ducati to Make FIM Motocross World Championship Debut

Italian motorcycle manufacturer is MXGP bound in 2024 with Antonio Cairoli.

Ducati is set to make its FIM Motocross World Championship debut at Motorsportpark Gelderland Midden in Arnhem, Netherlands, on August 17 and 18, with one of its highly accomplished test riders lining up in the premier class.

Round 16 of the 2024 FIM Motocross World Championship will mark Ducati’s first time competing in the series, with Antonio Cairoli racing a prototype Desmo450 MX in the MXGP class.Ducati

Nine-time series champion Antonio Cairoli will be at the controls of the Desmo450 MX for its first showing in MXGP competition. Ducati states this is an important step in developing the future production motocross bike as well as accomplishing its goal of participating in the entire FIM Motocross World Championship in 2025.

“After some years of retirement, I will be back racing MXGP with the new Desmo450 MX,” Cairoli said. “I’m excited to bring the Ducati to the starting gate, and will see you in Arnhem.”
