2024 GasGas MC 250F Factory Edition Technical Information

Features and specifications of GasGas’ special-edition 250F motocrosser.

The special-edition 250cc four-stroke motocross bike segment grew by one last year, and consisted of as many models with the unveiling of GasGas’ MC 250F Factory Edition, and KTM and Husqvarna not releasing a 250 SX-F Factory Edition and FC 250 Rockstar Edition, respectively. For 2024, all three up-spec 250F MX models from Austria are available, each with notable updates. Before testing the MC 250F Factory Edition in its second year on the market, we pointed our cameras at it to capture static and detail shots, and wrote about what’s new, unchanged, and more for 2024. Read on for that very information.

GasGas’ MC 250F Factory Edition is in its second year on the market in 2024.Jeff Allen
The fun Austrian brand’s special-edition 250cc four-stroke motocrosser spins 40.2 hp and 19.5 lb.-ft. of torque at the rear wheel.Jeff Allen
The only powerplant-related difference between the standard MC 250F and MC 250F Factory Edition is the latter features a Hinson Racing Billetproof clutch cover.Jeff Allen
Header pipe is the same resonance chamber-equipped unit that’s found on the standard model, while muffler is an Akrapovič Slip-On Line titanium component.Jeff Allen
The silencer from Slovenia is equipped with a United States Forest Service (USFS)-approved spark arrestor.Jeff Allen
A new feature common among all special-edition four-stroke motocross models from Austria in 2024 that’s not found on the MY25 standard versions in stock trim is Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO).Jeff Allen
Engine start and stop buttons are familiar to the MC 250F, but the up-spec model comes with a switch on the left side of the handlebar that allows riders to toggle between two engine maps and activate traction control (TC), launch control, and quickshift (QS).Jeff Allen
Users who are unfamiliar with what each engine map is and how to access launch control need only look down.Jeff Allen
While the standard MC 250F is equipped with a Braktec hydraulic clutch in 2024, the MC 250F Factory Edition retains the use of a Brembo system.Jeff Allen
The most visible change on the reworked double-cradle chromoly steel frame is the cutout on both sides of the shock tower.Jeff Allen
Head stays are given the cutout treatment as well.Jeff Allen
Minor updates were made to the swingarm to match the frame changes.Jeff Allen
The MC 250F Factory Edition retains the use of a WP Xact 48mm closed-cartridge air fork and WP Xact shock, both of which have revised settings.Jeff Allen
Left fork cap is slightly different from the regular MY24 motocrossers with this black Allen bolt, which GasGas says not to remove.Jeff Allen
Right fork leg has the usual compression damping adjuster up top and rebound damping knob on bottom.Jeff Allen
Shock spring rate remains 42 Nm, which is common among all Austrian 250F motocross models.Jeff Allen
All suspension damping is adjustable by hand on GasGas’ full-size dirt bikes.Jeff Allen
Factory Racing triple clamps are offset-adjustable, anodized red, and can be found in GasGas’ Technical Accessories catalog.Jeff Allen
Red anodized hubs help make the MC 250F Factory Edition stand out, and are laced to black D.I.D DirtStar rims. GasGas’ MY24 special-edition motocrossers are the brand’s first to come with Dunlop Geomax MX34 tires.Jeff Allen
While the regular MC 250F is spec’d with a 52-tooth rear sprocket, the MC 250F Factory Edition uses a 51-tooth. Both models have the same countershaft sprocket size of 14-tooth.Jeff Allen
There’s no Braktec in the binder department either. GasGas chooses Brembo brakes for its premium motocross models.Jeff Allen
Another difference when it comes to speed control is a semi-floating front brake disc that’s shielded by a carbon composite guard.Jeff Allen
Carbon composite continues with the skid plate.Jeff Allen
The first-ever MC 250F Factory Edition’s seat cover didn’t come with ribs, but this year’s does.Jeff Allen
You’d be hard-pressed to find a larger footpeg on a stock dirt bike than those from Austria.Jeff Allen
Aside from being black instead of silver, the Neken handlebar is identical to the MC 250F’s.Jeff Allen
One of the many included extras on the MC 250F Factory Edition is a WP holeshot device.Jeff Allen
Fuel tank is smaller than the standard full-size motocross models’ (1.8 gallons versus 2.1 gallons) and is exclusive to the fun Austrian brand’s Factory Editions.Jeff Allen
Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas Factory Racing graphics emulate those found on the team’s racebikes just about to a T.Jeff Allen
An hourmeter is a new addition to GasGas’ standard-model dirt bikes for 2024, and a returning feature on the Factory Editions.Jeff Allen
ODI lock-on grips are standard issue on the fun Austrian brand’s dirt bikes, and the Factory Editions are even nicer with a soft compound.Jeff Allen
GasGas’ up-spec quarter-liter four-stroke motocrosser hits the Dirt Rider scales at 237 pounds wet.Jeff Allen
