Husqvarna ’s enduro lineup has grown in 2024 with the addition of two models: the FE 350w and FE 501w . These 50-state off-highway-compliant dirt bikes are similar to their dual sport counterparts of the same displacement (the FE 350s and FE 501s ), but are off-road-only. Having already reviewed the FE 501w , we set our sights on the smaller-displacement enduro thumper from Husqvarna to see how it performs. FE 350w testing is wrapping up as we type this, and in the meantime, we’ve dedicated this story to focus specifically on its components and features.
The FE 350w is a new model in Husqvarna’s enduro lineup for 2024, and shares many similarities with the FE 350s dual sport. Jeff Allen Engine is a fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke 350cc single-cylinder with a Pankl Racing Systems six-speed transmission. Jeff Allen An evaporative canister plays a big role in making this model 50-state off-highway-compliant. Jeff Allen Behind the Twin Air air filter is an airboot with a reed valve system that decreases engine noise. Jeff Allen On Dirt Rider ’s in-house dyno, the FE 350w is good for 33.1 hp and 21.8 lb.-ft. of torque at peak. Jeff Allen Header pipe is fitted with an O2 sensor and the muffler features a United States Forest Service (USFS)-approved spark arrestor. Jeff Allen All of Husqvarna’s FE models feature a 2.1-gallon fuel tank. Jeff Allen There’s plenty of open space on the handlebar with engine start and stop buttons combined on a single switch on the right side, and hand guards that are mounted to the front brake and clutch master cylinders via the same bolts and nuts as the levers. Jeff Allen A big step up in performance on Husqvarna’s enduros and dual sports for MY24 is the new WP Xact closed-cartridge coil-spring fork. Jeff Allen Compression damping knobs are on the fork caps, and rebound damping adjusters are found on the bottom of the legs. Husqvarna is the only Austrian brand to spec CNC-machined triple clamps on its enduros and dual sports. Jeff Allen A new WP Xact shock is 15mm (0.6 inch) shorter and 100 grams (0.2 pound) lighter. Jeff Allen Shock spring rate is 45 Nm. Jeff Allen Low- and high-speed compression and rebound damping adjusters are in the usual spots on the shock, and don’t require tools to move. Jeff Allen To match the stiffer double-cradle chromoly steel frame and polyamide/aluminum hybrid subframe, Husqvarna developed a new hollow, die-cast swingarm. Jeff Allen Rear axle size is smaller than the prior-generation (2020–2023) Husqvarna enduros and street-legal dirt bikes at 22mm instead of 25mm. Jeff Allen CNC-machined hubs and D.I.D DirtStar rims are just a couple examples of the premium components found on many Husqvarna dirt bikes. Jeff Allen Braktec has handled braking and hydraulic clutch duties on Husqvarna’s headlight-equipped dirt bike range since MY22. Jeff Allen Dashboard has an odometer, hourmeter, speedometer, clock, and lap time feature. Jeff Allen A new LED headlight is 300 percent brighter and draws less power, and in proper enduro bike fashion, a taillight is fitted at the rear. Jeff Allen Kickstand folds up nicely out of the way, and a rubber strap ensures it stays there when riding aggressively. Jeff Allen At a Dirt Rider -measured 256 pounds wet, Husqvarna’s FE 350w weighs 2 pounds less than its FE 501w. Jeff Allen 2024 Husqvarna FE 350w Specs
