Poker for a Good Cause: Helping AckermanThere is going to be a celebrity/industry poker tournament on June 22nd at the Lake Elsinore Casino to benefit Chris Ackerman. We are asking for your support to help raise funds to bring Chris—who is a quadriplegic from a motorcycle accident—home for the first time since his accident over two years ago. The money raised will go to outfitting his new home with all the items needed to make it functional for him.
The tournament will be on a Wednesday night to accomodate those travelling to races on the weekends. The event will be run in standard Texas Hold 'em style—you don't need to be an experienced player to come on down. Buy-in will be for a total of $200. There will be a cash purse for the event along with prizes for the public who are welcome to play alongside the action sports stars. There are also opportunities for sponsorship.At this time we'd like to get the information circling and welcome early sign-up via e-mail and by phone; this is a great way for everyone to get together for a great cause.There will be a freestyle motocross demo on site, free of charge, featuring riders like Brian Deegan and OX.
