Pushing his way through and edging out Torco Racing Fuels/Honda's Josh Grant, Justin grabbed the holeshot in the qualifiers Saturday night. As the struggle to maintain his place at the front of the line ensued Justin stayed strong and was able to take 5th at the end of the race and a place at the gate to show his stuff again in the main.The extremely hard-packed dirt and tricky rhythm sections of the big show didn't hold back number 158 rider as he made his way through the course and landed 17th at the end of the night.At the age of 25, Justin Buckelew brings a long history of both professional and amateur career accomplishments to Chaplin Kawasaki's Team.His Professional Achievements throughout his career have been: becoming the 2001 San Diego SX Winner, having Four career AMA Supercross podiums and was the Prince of Bercy 2000 as well as obtaining 3 top ten AMA national finishes. With his Amateur Career including a 4-time AMA Loretta Lynn's national champion a 12-time NMA Ponca City National Champion, 14 World Mini championships, 15 GNC Lake Whitney championships, Mini O's Bronze boot winner, Mammoth Mountain winner, Golden State series champion, New Mexico State Champion.Riding for Chaplin Kawasaki, number 75, Ricky Renner placed 34th fastest out of everyone Saturday morning, earning him a place in the night show qualifiers.
