In the middle of this week, we headed out to Tommy Harrison's supercross track and found Josh Grant and Brett Metcalfe, both being trained and coached by Ryan Hughes, doing some serious laps. Grant, in particular, looked like a new man on the track, going noticeably faster than he was even last year during the Eastern Regional Supercross Series, during which he nearly won Daytona. His most noticeable increase in speed was in the whoops and corners.Metcalfe also seemed to be figuring things out at the track, but unfortunately went down very hard late in the day. He is reportedly shaken up and sore, but otherwise okay.
Look for Metcalfe this weekend at Anaheim II, and Grant—for whom it was only his sixth SX ride day since he recovered from knee surgery—when the series heads east in St. Louis on February 18th.Check out this incredible sequence of Josh Grant laying it flat for Steve Cox's camera. The first photo in the sequence is availible for download as a wallpaper.
