Dear Dirt Rider,My son is four years old and rides a CRF50. I have been looking for handguards for the CRF50, and have come up with nothing. Hopefully you know of some, or can point me in the right direction to help save and protect my boy's hands.Thank you,
Mark
Hey Mark,While hand guards for the CRF50 are indeed hard to come by, there is one solution that we are seeing more and more on pitbikes: handlebar mounted guards. Rather than attaching to a perch, these guards mount directly to your handlebar, meaning that they will work on bikes of all shapes and sizes—including your son's CRF50.Oftentimes labeled "Universal Guards," you can find such products from most major plastic and guard manufacturers, including Acerbis (www.acerbis.com), Cycra (www.cycra.com) and Polisport (www.polisport.com), all of which will offer guards that should easily bolt onto the Honda 50's bars. Best of luck in finding a good fit, and I hope that this advice was—dare I say—handy.Chris Denison
