The extremely high level of competition in the 250cc four-stroke motocross rank continues to press technology forward. Today, it’s not only the Japanese brands and the Austrian group that are populating the field; Triumph has now entered the fray (soon to be joined by Ducati). KTM not only continues to twist the throttle on its R&D, but one-ups the competition by coming out with its “half-model-year” Factory Editions in winter, often a bigger technological step forward than their new-model-year summer release. In this case, the 2025 KTM 250 SX-F emerged with updates to the frame and bodywork, and revised suspension settings. But the KTM 250 SX-F Factory Edition brings even more to the party.
A Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO) is available as a KTM PowerParts accessory for the 2025 250 SX-F, and comes standard on the Factory Edition. The CUO links up to the KTMconnect app and allows riders to make adjustments to the engine, much like the SX-F’s Yamaha and Kawasaki counterparts. Unique to the KTM CUO system, however, is the LitPro functionality, which can provide riding data and track lap times.
This technology is only icing on the orange 250F cake, which already offers electric start, air-fork suspension, a handlebar-mounted switch that offers multiple engine maps, traction control settings, launch control, and a quickshifter function, and Brembo brake and clutch hydraulics. The 2025 KTM 250 SX-F Factory Edition adds to the mix the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing graphics, a Selle Dalla Valle seat, Akrapovič slip-on silencer, orange anodized factory triple clamps, holeshot device in the front fork guard, skid plate, and Hinson clutch cover.
The 2025 KTM 250 SX-F is available in a standard version for $10,399 and a Factory Edition for $11,599.
