KTM’s enduro and dual sport motorcycles are the latest 2022 models to be announced from the Austrian manufacturer. The four-stroke enduro bikes are the 500 XCF-W and 350 XCF-W, while the two-strokes include the 300 XC-W TPI, 250 XC-W TPI, and 150 XC-W TPI. The duo of street-legal dirt bike models are the 350 EXC-F and 500 EXC-F.
All of the models feature new slots in the WP Xplor fork’s outer tube, which are designed to feed more oil to the bushings and thereby reduce friction and heat buildup. The fork springs now have a polished surface finish to improve consistency, while a new valve design is intended to increase rebound damping performance.
The WP Xplor PDS shock has been retuned with firmer settings to improve bottoming resistance, while a new O-ring is said to be less prone to deformation, wear, and fading. Appearance changes in the form of a blue seat and blue-accented graphics grace all of KTM’s enduro and dual sport motorcycles.
The one bike to receive a model-specific update is the 250 XC-W TPI, which has been geared down with a two-teeth-larger rear sprocket than last year. KTM’s cited reason for changing the gearing ratio from 13:50 to 13:52 was to give the quarter-liter two-stroke enduro machine a boost at the bottom-end of the power curve.
