How Much Power Does the 2024 Beta 300 RR Race Edition Make?

Dyno testing Beta’s up-spec 300 two-stroke enduro for horsepower and torque.

There are eight carbureted 300 two-stroke enduro and off-road bikes on the market in 2024, and one of the most popular among them is Beta’s 300 RR Race Edition. Campaigned by the likes of Beta USA’s Danny Lewis in the AMA US Hard Enduro series and AMA EnduroCross Championship, the 300 RR Race Edition is an ideal choice for Beta riders who demand the highest performance from a headlight-equipped big-bore two-stroke.

We ran the Italian manufacturer’s MY24 flagship two-stroke off-road motorcycle on our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer, where its carbureted liquid-cooled two-stroke 293cc single-cylinder engine cranked out peak figures of 41.1 hp and 29.4 lb.-ft. of torque at the rear wheel.

“Like two-strokes of the same displacement, the 300 RR Race Edition packs a powerful punch down low and through the midrange, more so than many competitors even,” test rider Casey Casper said. “I’d attribute this to the oversquare design and well-jetted Keihin PWK 36mm carburetor more than anything. For serious competitors who want to start near the front, the 300 RR Race Edition is up for the task.”
