The CRF250RWE is a new model in Honda’s motocross bike lineup for 2025, which is all the more exciting given that Big Red’s full-size CRF-R models are heavily overhauled this year. As far as engine-related differences between the CRF250R and CRF250RWE go, the Works Edition model boasts hand-polished cylinder ports, dedicated ignition and injection mapping, a Yoshimura RS-12 exhaust system, and Twin Air air filter.
At peak, the CRF250RWE is good for 37.8 hp and 18.4 lb.-ft. of torque on our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer. With those figures, it produces 0.7 hp and 0.9 lb.-ft. of torque more than the standard model at peak. The CRF250RWE also makes less than the CRF250R from 3,900 rpm to 5,100 rpm, but more from 5,400 rpm all the way to rev limit of nearly 14,000 rpm.
“The CR250RWE engine produces quite a noticeable increase in power,” test rider Allan Brown said. “Torque is the most noticeable improvement, with better roll-on and no loss of over-rev. This increased torque helps the engine pull second gear much better through tighter corners, and third gear can be used in some more open corners.”
