How Much Power Does the 2025 Husqvarna FC 250 Make?

Dyno testing Husqvarna’s 250F motocross bike for horsepower and torque.

It’s not uncommon to see Husqvarna’s FC 250 atop the leaderboard of peak horsepower and torque figures in the 250cc four-stroke motocross bike segment, and that’s once again the case for 2025. This Austrian machine’s fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke 250cc single-cylinder engine churns out 40.4 hp and 18.9 lb.-ft. of torque on the Dirt Rider dyno—the most of all standard-model 250F motocrossers in 2025. The FC 250 still isn’t the strongest from low-end to midrange, but riders who are willing to rev will discover why it’s so impressive on the dyno, and reap the rewards.

“The FC 250 has a really strong engine package that doesn’t make it difficult to ride,” test rider Michael Wicker said. “I’d love to see more low-end grunt, but engine performance is still really good. I enjoy keeping rpm up to help maintain the bike’s momentum through softer sections as well as the uphills at Glen Helen Raceway.”
