2024 Husqvarna FC 450 Rockstar Edition Dyno Test

Dynoing Husky’s special-edition 450 motocrosser for horsepower and torque.

For Husqvarna riders who demand the highest performance from a 450cc motocross bike, the Austrian brand offers its FC 450 Rockstar Edition. Having been on the market since 2018, the special-edition version of Husqvarna’s flagship motocross bike typically features suspension setting revisions and a slew of trick components from its Technical Accessories catalog every year.

The one up-spec component that affects engine output and power delivery on the 2024 model is an FMF Factory 4.1 RCT slip-on titanium muffler. And although the FC 450 Rockstar Edition makes 0.1 hp and 0.4 lb.-ft. of torque less at peak than the standard-model FC 450 on our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer, Husqvarna’s priciest 450cc motocross bike still pumps out impressive numbers—55.5 hp and 33.5 lb.-ft. of torque at the rear wheel, to be exact.

“The standard map 1 (white light illuminated) on the FC 450 Rockstar Edition offers a linear power delivery with more controllable low-end,” test rider Michael Wicker said. “The aggressive map 2 (green light illuminated) is nice to have when the dirt’s deep at the beginning of the day, but it picks up quickly and can make the bike hard to hold onto when you get tired.”
