How Much Power Does the 2024 Husqvarna FE 501w Make?

Dyno testing Husqvarna’s 511cc enduro motorcycle for horsepower and torque.

Husqvarna’s FE 501w is the largest-displacement off-road-only dirt bike in its enduro range. It and the FE 350w are new to the lineup in 2024, and are the only two models from the Austrian brand that boast 50-state off-highway-compliancy. Curious to see what its fuel-injected liquid-cooled SOHC four-stroke 511cc single-cylinder engine is capable of, we strapped the FE 501w to our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer, where it spun peak figures of 39.0 hp and 28.3 lb.-ft. of torque at the rear wheel.

“The FE 501w’s engine is possibly its best asset,” test rider Allan Brown said. “Power delivery hits its intended target perfectly in the center of the dartboard. It may lack some of the excitement of the closed-course FE 450, but makes up for it with torque and rideability, as it can be ridden at a leisurely pace or aggressively for hours on end.”
