The KTM 450 SX-F is known for having a linear power delivery, but that doesn’t stop it from logging some of the highest figures in the class time and time again. This year is a prime example of that, as the 2024 model boasts the most peak horsepower and torque of all the standard-model 450cc motocross bikes. Our in-house dyno recorded maximum figures of 56.4 hp and 34.6 lb.-ft. of torque at its rear wheel.
“I enjoy the smooth power KTM’s 450 SX-F offers,” test rider Michael Wicker said. “It lacks low-end intensity compared to the Japanese bikes, but has stronger bottom-end to midrange than the Husqvarna FC 450 and GasGas MC 450F. Of the two engine maps, I really like using the aggressive map 2 (green light illuminated) as it makes the response sharper overall.”
