Moose Racing Expedition Rear Rack - Dirt Rider Magazine

When I needed some extra storage space on our Suzuki DR650 test bike, I turned to Moose Racing's Expedition Rear Rack to provide more room for my junk.Constructed of mild steel with a powdercoated finish, this made-in-the-U.S.A. product is a simple, one-piece design that attaches to the DR650's frame via longer bolts that thread in where the stock passenger handles are. Installation required some creative thinking as I opted to keep the stock handles on (since they hold the turn signals), but with a little wedging and sweating I was able to make it happen. Once I got it installed, I was not only stoked with how much room the Moose Rack adds to the bike, but also the endless number of ways to rig gear to the rack available by using bungee cords. I mounted a sleeping bag and some miscellaneous gear on an epic adventure and everything held tight for over 400 miles. The rack is mounted far enough back that you can still remove the seat with it installed. The $129.95 price tag for such a simple item made me cringe a little at first, but then again the durability of this piece has been spot-on. If you're a DR650 owner and are looking to expand your carrying capacity, this is money well spent. -Chris Denison
