The first half of this highly technical manual describes the theory and operation of modern suspension in great detail with understandable text and clean Alan Lapp illustrations and graphs. The second half deals more with tools, troubleshooting and how to tear down suspension components, and it is filled with excellent close-up photography. The book is for those who really want to learn. It is as entertaining as a textbook can be, but the information is all there. With heavy stock, white paper and very nice photo reproduction, the production values are closer to a coffee table picture book than to a typical shop manual. This book isn't a must for every rider.
