2025 Suzuki RM-Z450 RM Army Edition Dyno Test

Dyno testing Suzuki’s flagship motocross bike for horsepower and torque.

Suzuki isn’t going to win any awards for having the most up-to-date motocross bikes (both 250cc and 450cc four-stroke) in 2025, but its RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 still have a lot to offer in terms of a user-friendly power delivery, highly touted front suspension components, and chassis that’s legendary for incredibly turning ability.

In the case of the RM-Z450, its fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke 449cc single-cylinder engine hasn’t changed since 2018, but as of last year, Suzuki offers a free limited-time RM Army Edition kit that includes a Pro Circuit T-6 exhaust system. With this stainless steel header pipe and titanium muffler with carbon fiber end-cap installed on the RM-Z450 RM Army Edition, it spins peak figures of 52.8 hp and 33.9 lb.-ft. of torque on Dirt Rider’s rear-wheel dyno in 2025.

Modern 450cc machines can get scary, usually at the least opportune of times, and the RM-Z450 is one of the mellowest of the bunch and leads to very few, if any, ‘oh no’ moments,” test rider Casey Casper said. “With more pizazz off the bottom and a longer spread up top, the RM Army Edition version is the most refined production RM-Z450 I’ve ridden to date.”
