How Much Power Does the 2025 Triumph TF 250-X Make?

Dyno testing Triumph’s 250F motocross bike for horsepower and torque.

Following the long-awaited and highly anticipated arrival of its first 250cc four-stroke motocross bike, Triumph recently released details about what its TF 250-X will look like in its second year on the market. With the 2024 model being a completely new dirt bike from the ground up, the 2025 model is understandably similar with the exception of new optimized fuel maps and slightly different graphics.

Leading up to the publication of this year’s Dirt Rider 250F Motocross Bike Comparison Test, we ran the 2025 Triumph TF 250-X on our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer, where its fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke 250cc single-cylinder engine sent 39.9 hp and 18.7 lb.-ft. of torque to the rear wheel.

“The TF 250-X makes adequate power that feels torquier than it actually is, but has a disconnected feel at the right wrist,” test rider Casey Casper said. “There’s almost a bog down low, then a flat top-end transitioning into over-rev.”
