This week we are checking out XR’s Only’s Full Exhaust System for the Honda XR650L/XR600. This unit fits all XR-Ls and XR600s from 1988 and up. The header, mid-pipe, and muffler are all stainless steel construction and features a stylishly modern cone tip on the end. We need to make this clear, this exhaust makes the XR-L a non-street legal bike and it should only be ridden on proper off-road trails and riding areas.
One of the great benefits of this system is that it saves 1.55 pounds over the stock pipe. The header is a tiny bit heavier but the muffler is much lighter. Secondly, with a more open design in both the header and muffler, this pipe should offer better performance throughout the rpm range. Lastly it comes with a USFS-approved spark arrestor.
This pipe is going to be used in conjunction with many other XR’s Only products in an upcoming XR650L bike project. Keep an eye out for the full bike build in a future issue of Dirt Rider.
