ELLENTON, Fla. (April 27, 2016) – AMSOIL Arenacross unveiled the 6 lane, high intensity track layout the will be built inside The Orleans Arena and will challenge the Race to the Championship field in Las Vegas on Friday, May 6. AMSOIL Arenacross' debut at The Orleans will be highlighted by the culmination of the Race to the Championship, crowning the first-ever recipient of the Ricky Carmichael Cup, and kicks off a thrilling finale weekend that also includes the final race of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, from Sam Boyd Stadium on May 7 and the AMSOIL Amateur National Arenacross Championships at The Orleans Arena on May 8.

The layout for The Orleans Arena features more challenges than the traditional AMSOIL Arenacross track. While most tracks are made with four racing lanes, the Las Vegas layout boasts six, which also includes five bowl turns and two lanes of whoops that are sure to bring some intense passes and exciting on the edge of your seat racing. The showcase elements of the track will be a starting gate outside the arena floor and a massive triple jump, similar to that of Monster Energy Supercross. All of these elements combine to set the stage for what is sure to be the most intense racing of the season with the Ricky Carmichael Cup on the line. The Team Babbitt’s/Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki duo of Gavin Faith and Chris Blose will enter Las Vegas in a heated battle atop the Race to the Championship standings. Just eight points sit between the teammates, who have been at the forefront of the playoff since it began. Faith entered as the top seed in the Race to the Championship, but Blose seized control at its opening round. From there they have both been virtual locks for a spot on the podium, and thanks to back-to-back overall wins Faith has been able reclaim control of the points heading into the final round. The third member of the Team Babbitt’s effort, Jacob Hayes, sits 26 points out of the lead in third and is more than ready to take advantage of any opportunities that present themselves on the final night of action. The AMSOIL Arenacross finale from Las Vegas will kick off at 11 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT on Friday, May 6, at The Orleans Arena. Tickets are available at the Orleans Casino Box Office, OrleansArena.com or 702-284-7777. The Orleans Arena Box Office is open on the day of the event only starting at 5:00pm on Friday and 7:30 a.m. on Sunday
